Born in Leeds & raised in London, England, Mark Toren began his career working for Adecco & Manpower Staffing Services: two of the largest global staffing companies. In 1995, he opened up the financial services division, Contemporary Personnel, and in 1997, was appointed SVP, Sales & Marketing, Anne Whitten Bilingual Human Resources. In 1999, he became the founder & principal of Altura Search Partners. With over 17 years in the industry, Mr Toren built his career in the search & selection of financial / investment executives in Canada. He remains its founder & principal today. A frequent guest speaker, member of leading industry associations, sponsor and contributor to industry events and articles; Mr Toren is considered by many to be the pioneer for executive search in the Canadian asset management industry. He actively manages consulting / search mandates for Canadian & US investment clients.

Leah originally started her career at Altura in 2001 as an Office Assistant & Receptionist after previously working in (Legal) Office Assistance and management. Leah received her Honours Diploma in the Career and Work Coaching Programme at George Brown College in 2004 and also did some studies at Ryerson and York University.  As a co-op student, Leah worked at various agencies including St. Stephens, Goodwill and Vocational Pathways, and also the AGO, where she worked as a Recruiter. Leah returned to Altura in January, 2006, and was quickly promoted to Search Consultant and Executive Assistant.  In recognition of her years of dedicated service to the firm, Leah was promoted to Partner & COO in 2008.

Having almost ten years experience working in the financial industry, Nathalie has recently joined Altura search as an Associate. For the past two years she has been running her own home business and raising her two children. Prior to that has worked in the Mutual Fund industry having started her career working at a bank as Confirmation Manager for Currency Options and then worked at a Morning star rated company as a Customer Service Rep/Inside Sales Rep. She has since worked as an Inside Sales Rep for two other fund companies.
